We hope you are having a fantastic beginning to 2024! January has been a wonderful combination of us identifying our goals for 2024 and recapping what a wonderful year 2023 was. Your trust and collaboration were instrumental to us in 2023 and we extend our heartfelt gratitude.
We were particularly impacted by something our 11-year-old daughter said to us this summer. We had the opportunity to take a bucket list trip to South Africa this August. On our return plane trip, Ellis said “You know how Africa was the one place we really wanted to see more than any other? Isn’t it fun to know that the people who come to Aspen may feel the same way about where we live?”. It struck us how fortunate we are as a family that we got to come home from a once in a lifetime trip and our daughter recognized how exceptional it is that we get to call this place home. It also struck us how many times we have visited and appreciated other notably beautiful locations, but still felt fortunate that we get to return to Aspen/Snowmass. The moment served to reinforce what we have always said about this area being a lifestyle choice you make when you connect with this place and this community. We have yet to have a client tell us they regret their time spent in our mountain haven!
We have recently encountered inquiries and comments suggesting an apparent rise in real estate inventory within the Aspen/Snowmass area. Despite some notable additions of new properties, it's crucial to note that the inventory remains historically low. To provide a comprehensive understanding, we've conducted a thorough analysis considering factors such as price point, area, and property type. Based on the absorption rates for each sector, we have made educated estimations on what will happen with pricing if supply and demand levels remain the same.

Many of you have been asking for updates on the next phase of building in Snowmass Village. Lot 10AB is the last lot in Base Village that has not commenced building. East West, the project developer, has secured their approvals through the Town of Snowmass Village for this next phase of building. We are told the project will consist of 85-90 residences between 2-4 bedrooms. The developer is still finalizing details including the size of the residences, floor plans, and pricing. They expect to begin marketing the residences in 2024 and accepting contracts on the residences at the beginning of 2025. We love keeping our clients up to date on all of the new projects that could be of interest, but also in consideration when purchasing an existing residence.
The Michelin Guide, venturing into the Colorado restaurant scene for the first time this year, served up a delightful surprise. Five restaurants in Colorado were awarded with single stars, including Aspen's very own Bosq. Congratulations to Chef Barclay Dodge.
